God Is So Good!

Soup Kitchen "Creando Puentes"

We are continuing our bible study series here on the seven "I AM statements" that Jesus made about himself in the book of John. This week we did “I AM the light of the world” and looked at how God guided the Israelites with a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. We looked at Isaiah and John and how if we follow the Lord, He will guide us too.

"Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12

It has been encouraging to see the children eager to open the bible and find the verses, and also to see more women show up to the bible study last week, we pray that this will stay consistent. We have decided to help feed the families dinner who come to the study. It has been a sweet time of fellowship and getting to know the women better. The dinners are $30-$50 US dollars each week.

A few weeks ago we were able to visit one of the families homes in this neighborhood for the first time. It was amazing to see the work they do as a family. Last minute they had been requested to fill an order of 2000 pairs of earrings, with a deadline of 24hrs, for a trade show. So the family had an assembly line going making these beautiful shimmering earrings, It was fascinating to see. We prayed over them as they worked. I felt very honored that they would allow us to come to their home. The mother of this family recently accepted Christ in her heart and life so it has been awesome to see her attend the bible study. Last Thursday she asked how to read the bible. And we were able to give her a bible to keep.

Jose has learned how to play the guitar in 5 months and has been leading worship. The women loved the song Blessed Assurance and wanted to take the lyrics home with them. It is so exciting to see their excitement to know more about Jesus!

El Salto Neighborhood

Please continue to pray for Elizabeth’s family her brothers baby who is around 2 died. We pray that their family will run to Jesus alone for fulfillment with this particular loss and not be tempted to run to drugs. Before this precious baby died we were doing bible study at their home and this little boy fell down the stairs, six to seven feet. A chair broke his fall that probably saved his life. Why then did God plan to take him months later? With death you always want to ask, why Lord? Every trial and struggle is an opportunity to trust him even when life doesn't make sense but it is still hard.

Irma is having her fourth baby in November. They do not own a car so we have offered to take her to the hospital when the baby arrives. We are excited! Pablo and Irma are doing very well but He is working very often and only is home to sleep two nights out of the week. We are praying for their marriage. Pablo has been sharing God with Irmas parents, and his testimony of what God has done to his heart. Pablo recently shared with Jose that he wants to learn how to share the Gospel.

...... How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news! Romans 10:15

Please be in prayer because Irmas dad has a brain tumor. He is very open to talking about God, and Pablo even mentioned that everytime he is the one who brings up the topic, but Irmas mother is not often very happy or interested in the subject. Please pray for her heart will be softened to accept Jesus as her Lord.

Antonio used to attend our bible studies at Judith's’ house in El Salto. Last year around this time his wife had no idea where he was and we heard he ran to drugs and alcohol often. We have been praying for this family for a while and God has helped him. He no longer runs to drugs and alcohol but instead runs to the Jesus!!! He also wants Jose to teach him how to teach the bible, and to hopefully start his own bible study in his new neighborhood. Thank you Jesus for being a God who transforms people! Thank you for showing your power and love to these people whom you love so deeply!

La Ola Orphanage

God has been doing some amazing things here! Becky, the orphanage director has been trying to save for their own property so they do not have to continue looking for places to rent and move the girls around. After she visited the people and churches in the states she was still short $100,000 US dollars. Though she had an impossible deadline she had an unexplainable peace and fell asleep while praying for the remaining amount. She awoke to a phone call, it was a friend she had not talked to in 10 years and they said that they wanted to give the orphanage $100,000 US dollars!!!!! God is so good!!! Thank you Lord for seeing this orphanage and the directors and wanting to help them! Please be in prayer because she is now in need of the money to start building the building and the taxes for the property.

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think.... Ephesians 3:20

At the end of September the women at Grace and Truth Fellowship and the people from the soup kitchen helped us put on a spa event at the orphanage.

The girls had a blast! My friend Sanae spoke and did an amazing job talking about what it looks like to be pure in the Lord’s eyes. She gave her testimony and talked about some hard but needed topics. Then we broke up into small groups to discuss things more personally. We ate snacks, did make up, pedicures, manicures, and facials. Thank you Lord for this time with these girls! The week following the spa event, the soup kitchen had a special team that was visiting them. We were honored to host them to do ministry alongside us at the orphanage. They shared with the girls how Jesus loves them right where they are at and how he wants a relationship with them and how even if they feel abandoned by their parents that Jesus will never abandon them. We had such a good time showing them Chapala afterward and dining with them. We felt blessed to have these women join our ministry that evening.

For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord will take me in. Psalm 27:10

Grace and Truth Fellowship

This past week we did 24/7 Prayer with one other church. This is a special week we do about 4 times a year. There is a room dedicated to prayer, where you sign up for an hour each day to pray. There is someone in this room praying every hour of every day for 7 days. While you are in the room you have a chance to pray for all kinds of specific needs and post sticky notes for each prayer. When the next person comes in they can also pray for that prayer request. At the end of that week, you will see that prayers are being answered by God.

One 7 year old girl came into pray and prayed for a bible. Someone decided to buy one for her with her post-it note on the top of the bible.

The Lord put it on my heart to pray for the kids at one of the orphanages we haven't been able to visit in two years. Saturday evening as we were leaving Pablo and Irmas house we see the boys of the orphanage outside. I felt like God knew how much I missed these kids without even asking he gave me a beautiful blessing to see them again. Thank you Jesus!

Thank you Lord for the opportunity to serve your people and Love them! Thank you that it’s not up to us to make a difference but that we get to do this with you. Please continue guiding us on this journey. Thank you that we can trust you in everything and for everything!

Not to us, Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness. Psalm 115:1
